Dear Amity Club Brothers,
On behalf of myself and the Amity Club, I want to wish all of you, your families and friends a Happy Thanksgiving!
It is that wonderful time of year to follow the example of our great ancestors and founding fathers to put aside our cares and troubles for a moment and be thankful for the blessings we have.
But giving thanks, like giving love, is meaningless unless it is directed towards another. Because of the current myopic trend to secularism, we don’t hear very much that the pilgrims directed their thanks to God. They saw God as having answered their prays and so should we. God did not create fish in a fish bowl to be observed for amusement. But He (or She) is an integral part of His creation.
I am thankful for organizations like the Amity Club which are not afraid to uphold our traditional American values of religion, patriotism, hard work, justice, friendship, charity and service to others. When our basic values are being attacked from without and within by those who have lost their moral compass, it is all the more important for us to stand up for God and country on this national holiday for the sake of our country and children.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Your Brother,
Tom Santoro
President
